Essential Oil Magic

Essential Oil Magic

Walk into my Bathroom and you see a spice rack of brightly colored Young Living essential oils bottles. I get compliments on this often. They look damn good, but they work even better! I’m going to break down my top 10 fav oils!

  • Lavender
    • The king of oils, you’ve heard of about lavender before, no doubt.  It’s the master of calming nerves! Of all scents, this scent always centers me. I love using lavender during meditation. Also wonderful for applying to burn wounds or cuts! Throw this oil on anywhere, or bathe in it. Just use it, in any form. LOVE lavender!
  • Peppermint
    • Wonderful for uneasy stomachs, nagging headaches, or a little mid-day wake up call! The one oil I carry in my purse at all times.  I apply this oil to the back of my ears and ear lobes. I love when I’m out and about and I can follow someone’s oil-y peppermint trail just by the smell!
  • Lemon/Citrus
    • My master cleaning oil! My house doesn’t feel clean if it doesn’t smell like lemon or citrus. I love to just diffuse a couple drops of either lemon or citrus oil in my diffuser. I go through my citrus oil the quickest because I’m using quite a bit between my diffuser and cleaning.
  • Cedarwood
    • My #1 sleeping oil. I apply this oil to my big toes each night before. This oil is combined in my all time favorite sleeping oil – mix equally 5 drops cedar wood, lavender, and stress away. Heavenly combo.  My husband even requests his own roller ball for his side of the bed.
  • Digize
    • Pepto-bismol in a bottle.  And that’s sort of what it smells like. I admit I don’t love the smell but I continue running through bottles because it works so well for upset stomachs. When I’m feeling bad I apply this to my upset stomach in a clockwise pattern.  It always settles my stomach within the hour.
  • Tea Tree
    • I love this oil for acne breakouts or scars. Tea tree is known for it’s antiseptic, antiviral/fungal properties so it’s also great to use when cleaning or to diffuse when you’re fighting off an illness in your house.
  • Eucalyptus
    • I always keep fresh eucalyptus hanging in my shower.  It looks amazing and I just enjoy the steamy eucalyptus scent. When I need a Eucalyptus boost after my showers, I turn to my euc oil. This oil is basically Vicks in a bottle. When I need a little extra respiratory boost (head cold or allergies in particular) I mix mine with a little coconut oil and apply to chest and under my nose.
  • Progressence+
    • This oil is a Young Living blend that I can’t rave about enough.  It smells a little Grandma-y (not that there’s anything wrong with Grandma). But it’s a natural hormone replacement.  It uses wild yam extract, vitamin E, and a blend of other essential oils which support female hormone health and has anti-inflammatory properties.  This oil is much more gentle than over the hormone replacement counter creams. I enjoy this oil on my wrists and over my uterus.
  • Stress Away
    • This has a super unique, yummy, coconut-y smell.  It’s a blend of lime, vanilla, cedar wood, and lavender. Lavender and Stress Away are my go-tos when I’m having a rough day and need some extra support. Same as lavender, I apply this oil right behind my ears.
  • Thieves
    • Christmas in a bottle. Probably Young Living’s #1 selling oil/product line.  It’s clove, lemon, rosemary, eucalyptus, and cinnamon.  I turn to this oil when I need an immune boost and illness protection.  I have this oil mixed with fractioned coconut oil in a roller ball and apply this to the bottom of my feet right after I get out of the shower. When it’s not the holidays and I want an immune boost I love diffusing citrus and thieves together!

I personally love and promote Young Living products because of their purity standards. I feel comfortable and confident putting these oils on my body without diluting them or questioning pesticides or unsafe farming practices! Let me know if you want more info on getting your hands on some of these oils or some cheaper options for close substitutes for some of my favorite oils listed above. I’d love to give some more tips and tricks in to my own oily routine!
